You will be introduced to the basis of traditional Mexican medicine, songs and stories that hold this ceremony, and the traditional plans with their physical and energetic properties. A Night With Death

In this time of year when the mushrooms are bursting out of wet earth to announce that within the dark decay of the underworlds there is beauty, mystery, and redemption, many cultures gather to honor Death. It is worth considering: While we are accustomed to joining together to celebrate life, light, and growth; how often, outside of funerals, do we come together simply to make space for Death?

On this evening we will gather for a night of vigil, prayer, and meditation; poetry, song, myth–to take a night to do nothing else than simply to be with Death. We will honor those who have died this year; we will meditate on our own passing; and we will praise Death, for without this merciful and loving face of nature, we would exist in eternal stasis, without the ability to change and be reborn.
